We have a new ACS Chair! We welcome Mike Thompson as the new chair for the ACS workgroup.

It is an exciting time in the workgroup right now. There is a lot going on and we're working hard to put regional ACS plans in place. On another note, we just completed our first ACS workgroup meeting since we started back up. It was held on July 19, 2011. We walked through a completely erected tent stocked with our cache and medical equipment and discussed our next steps in the regional planning process.

We also recently had a very successful ACS Logistical Exercise on March 23rd and 24th at Providence Health Center. We brought all 3 of our ACS systems together for the first time and coordinated with several hospitals and agencies in the region to test ACS deployment among other things. Thank you to everyone that helped to make this exercise a success!

The first round of ACS trainings have also been completed at all hospitals throughout the region. Each training turned out to be a great success with awesome feedback from our partners. With this feedback, we will look to improve our local & regional ACS capabilities in the near future. Round 2 of trainings will start to be planned in the coming months.

Please see the short video at the following link to view tent instruction used in our ACS system.

Below is a link to the Functional Needs Support Services (FNSS) Toolkit. It is a FEMA guidance document for shelters to ensure all people with functional needs are considered.
